Lizzo has reportedly been dropped from consideration as a performer at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show following the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against her by her former dancers. The singer was allegedly a frontrunner to perform at the game.
Lizzo Dropped from Super Bowl Consideration
According to The Daily Mail, an NFL insider claims that Lizzo has been dropped from the organization’s consideration for next year’s Super Bowl halftime performance. The singer is also apparently out of the running to sing the national anthem.
Another source told the outlet that Lizzo’s team is “desperately trying to come up with a strategy to save her sinking ship,” adding that it’s “becoming more and more difficult with more people coming forth accusing her of extremely inappropriate acts.”
Lizzo is being sued by three of her former backup dancers, who have accused the singer of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. She has also been accused of weight-shaming a dancer.
Attorneys representing the dancers recently revealed that six other people have submitted similar complaints against Lizzo. The singer’s dance team captain Shirlene Quigley is also named in the suit, which accuses them of creating a “sexually charged and uncomfortable” work environment.

The Singer Calls the Allegations ‘Outrageous’
Earlier this month, Lizzo responded to the allegations against her in a lengthy social media statement. She called them “too outrageous to not be addressed,” adding that it is “never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team.”
“I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days,” Lizzo wrote. “I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not.”
The singer also wrote that she knows “what it feels like to be body shamed on a daily basis and would absolutely never criticize or terminate an employee because of their weight.”
